“Inourvillage,wecouldonlyplay,atthattime,tabletennisandsoccer—that’swhyIplayedboth,”Ibrahimsaid.“Itwaslogictoplaysoccerfirstduetomycase;thenIplayedtabletennisasachallenge.”
Allittookwasonefriend’ssnidewordstoinspireIbrahimtosucceedattabletennis.“IwasintheclubwhereIwasofficiating(担任裁判)amatchbetweentwoofmyfriends,”herecalled.“Theydisagreedonapoint,whenIcountedthepointinfavorofoneofthem,theotherplayertoldme,donotinterfereasyouwillneverbeabletoplay.Itwasthatstatementthatfiredmeuptodecidetoplaytabletennis.”
